Stump Grinding
Why remove the stump
Exposed stumps may be a trip hazard (e.g. especially to children running)
May attract termites/spreading of diseased wood to other trees
Some stumps may reshoot uncontrollably and require constant pruning
A stump will take a long time to rot away (up to 10-15 years)
Stumps are definitely not a nice sight in your garden
How we can help
Stumps are hard to remove by hand and often need to be ground out with a stump grinding machine. The machine has a circular blade with tungsten tip cutting teeth that slews side to side taking small bits out of the stump with every pass.
All types and size tree stumps (up to 10m diameter) can be removed, including stumps in areas difficult to access.
On most occasions, the stump is ground out completely (up to 2ft deep) allowing replanting afterward. Sometimes if there are underground utilities (e.g. water pipes), only the stump surface can be removed (i.e level with the ground) to avoid damage to underground services.
Stump grindings (wood chips) are usually left on site, however can be removed if requested.
