Tree Pruning

There are a number of options for pruning, depending on your tree’s circumstances. Our qualified Arborist will assess the tree and recommend the best solution.

These include:

Crown Reducing and Shaping

The tree foliage at the top can be reduced to better shape the tree, introduce more light or remove heavy and dangerous limbs. Often this will also encourage healthier growth, better tree shape,  reduce wind resistance and thereby minimise potential hazards.

Thinning

The tree foliage sometimes can become too thick and block light to your garden or adjacent buildings. Thinning will not change the size of the tree but will introduce more light by removing smaller or crossing branches. Thinning also reduces the risk of the tree blowing over in a storm due to less wind resistance.

Crown Lifting or Raising

The lower limbs of a tree are removed to increase the clearance level to the ground and to clear adjacent buildings, driveways, fences or other areas that peoplemay pass. It does not change the height of a tree (but it may appear smaller). It will allow more light and encourage other plants to grow around the tree.

Dead Wooding

The dead limbs are removed to ensure healthy growth and appearance. Whilst dead limbs are a natural part of tree growth, they sometimes can evidence of pests, infection or stress and are often dangerous.

Palm Tree Maintenance

Palm trees produce very heavy seed pods and flowers that can create not only a mess in your garden or pool area, but can be dangerous for those below the tree when they fall. Pods can be pruned before opening and dead fronds and husks removed to tidy up your palm tree, making it look healthier than ever.
